Responsibilities
- Assist the head chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking processes
- Supervise and motivate kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and efficiency
- Manage food production to ensure timely delivery of quality dishes that meet presentation standards
- Support team management by training new staff and providing ongoing coaching to enhance skills and teamwork
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all kitchen activities
- Contribute to menu planning by offering creative ideas and ensuring ingredient availability
- Serve as a role model for professionalism, hospitality, and culinary excellence during service hours
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in a busy kitchen or restaurant setting
- Strong background in food production, cooking techniques, and food preparation methods
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Extensive kitchen experience with knowledge of culinary best practices and food safety standards
- Previous restaurant experience that highlights your ability to work under pressure in a hospitality environment
- Familiarity with serving procedures and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
- Passion for culinary arts combined with excellent communication and organizational skills
Pay: £14.00-£14.50 per hour
