Job Summary:
Warwick Test Supplies is a manufacturer of electronic test clips, test leads, probes, connectors and bespoke cable/ lead assemblies. We are also a supplier and distributor of electronics test and measurement equipment and accessories.
We are seeking an enthusiastic practically skilled and detail-oriented production/ assembly operative to join our dynamic team located at Wallops Wood near Droxford, Hampshire. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cable preparation, mechanical assembly, soldering, and wiring tasks in the production of our products. They will be involved in the full production process from goods in, component selection, assembly, testing and packaging. There is also an opportunity for the successful candidate to further grow and develop the position as our products and capabilities expand.

A candidate that is self motivated, with accurate attention to detail, and able to manage their own work schedules across multiple products to meet quality and delivery deadlines. We continually develop new or improve current products, so they will be unafraid to learn new skills and be keen to experiment with new manufacturing techniques as well as document new production processes.
We are a small team that assist each other across roles and everyone is valued and encouraged to present initiative and improvement ideas. The candidate must be able to communicate and work successfully within this small team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical:
- Operate various hand tools and power tools to assemble products
- Follow assembly instructions and engineering drawings accurately
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance
- Assist with mechanical tasks as needed.
Cable Preparation, soldering and wiring:
- Operate wire and cable cutting and stripping machines.
- Mount crimps on wires using both hand and machine crimp tools.
- Basic soldering tasks to join wires to cables and connectors.
- Accurately follow assembly instructions and wiring diagrams.
Quality:
- Inspect goods in parts for specification accuracy and quality.
- Conduct electrical testing of assemblies using a circuit tester.
- Conduct quality checks of completed assemblies.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of assembly processes and update instructions as required.
- Assist in the creation of new work instructions for new products or manufacturing processes.
General:
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace.
- Troubleshoot and repair failed assemblies or components.
Skills:
- Experience with hand tools and power tools. Experience with cable preparation machinery a bonus.
- Ability to accurately follow work instructions and assemble products efficiently.
- General mechanical and electrical knowledge for troubleshooting.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control skills.
- Good communication skills within a small team environment.
Knowledge and experience:
The candidate ideally should have previous production, cable assembly, wiring and soldering experience although full training will be given. They should also have an interest in electronics, vehicle electronics test/ diagnostics, production and additive manufacturing.
Work pattern:
This role can be full time with 40 hours per week - Monday-Friday 08:00-1600 or Part-time with hours to be negotiated. We can accommodate flexible working hours.
28 days holiday (incl public holidays).
