Experienced Hotel Night Porter
The House at Ramsgate – Ramsgate, Kent
We are looking for an experienced Hotel Night Porter to join our team at The House at Ramsgate, a boutique hotel in Ramsgate.
This is a responsible overnight position, and applicants must have previous experience working nights within a hotel or similar hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the hotel during the night.
- Welcome and assist late-arriving guests.
- Manage late check-ins and early departures.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and any overnight issues.
- Carry out regular security, fire and safety checks.
- Ensure the hotel is secure throughout the night.
- Deal calmly and appropriately with emergencies or incidents.
- Answer telephone and reception enquiries.
- Carry out light cleaning and maintain tidy public areas.
- Assist with preparation for breakfast and morning service.
- Complete an accurate handover for the morning team.
What We're Looking For
- Previous hotel Night Porter/Night Reception experience is essential.
- Confident working independently and taking responsibility for the property overnight.
- Excellent guest service and communication skills.
- Reliable, trustworthy and professional.
- Good understanding of hotel security and fire safety procedures.
- Able to remain calm and make sensible decisions when dealing with unexpected situations.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and bank holidays.
We are particularly interested in candidates who understand the standards expected within a boutique or quality independent hotel environment.
