Duties
- Thoroughly clean and prepare surfaces by removing dirt, grease, rust, old paint, and other contaminants using hand tools and cleaning agents
- Sand, grind, or smooth surfaces with hand tools or power tools to ensure proper adhesion of paint or coatings
- Mask off areas that do not require painting to prevent overspray and ensure clean lines
- Handle heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely, following proper lifting techniques and safety protocols
- Inspect surfaces for imperfections and perform minor repairs as needed before painting begins
- Organize and maintain tools, supplies, and work areas for efficiency and safety
- Follow safety guidelines at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, and eye protection
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge to understand surface preparation techniques and equipment operation
- Proficiency with hand tools such as scrapers, sanders, brushes, and putty knives
- Experience using power tools like grinders, drills, or sanders for surface preparation tasks
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a physically demanding environment
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure surfaces are properly prepared for painting
- Good communication skills to follow instructions accurately and work effectively within a team
- Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to different project requirements

Pay: £25,420.00-£48,148.60 per year
