SKV Motors is looking for an experienced, all-round Vehicle Technician to join our dealership in Romford.
The majority of the role will involve servicing, PDIs, maintenance and mechanical preparation of our sales vehicles. You will also carry out diagnostic work and occasional larger repairs such as wet belts, timing components, clutches, head gaskets and engine-related work.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out PDIs and identifying preparation work required
- Routine servicing and general vehicle maintenance
- Brake, suspension, steering and cooling-system repairs
- Using diagnostic equipment and live data to investigate faults
- Mechanical and electrical fault-finding
- MOT preparation and associated repairs
- Completing larger mechanical repairs when required
- Road-testing and preparing vehicles to a high retail standard
Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, equivalent qualification or strong time-served experience
- Proven hands-on workshop experience
- Strong all-round mechanical and diagnostic ability
- Experience completing larger mechanical repairs
- Ability to diagnose the cause of faults rather than simply replacing parts
- Able to work independently and maintain a high standard of workmanship
- Full UK driving licence
Experience with BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and other German vehicles would be particularly beneficial.
