This is the heart of what we bring to young people at Woodbridge Care. We are a small, family-run company providing 24/7 care for children and we have two Ofsted-registered homes rated as 'outstanding in all areas'. We are looking to open a third soon.
Our work with young people is 'exceptional'. At the heart of this is our commitment to improving their lives by building relationships and bringing order, calmness and ambition to their lives.
What does the job involve?
Looking after children and providing a superb home for them where they are valued, cared for, supported, encouraged and nurtured. You need to bring empathy and compassion, the ability to build relationships, and resilience - it's not easy work.
It's shift work - two days on (including sleeps) then four days off.
What's the pay?
It will depend on your background and experience, but our rates of pay are exceptional for this sector.
What qualifications or experience do I need?
Here's the crucial part: you need to show us that you have commitment and passion for looking after young people who have been through a difficult time, and the skills to build excellent relationships with them. (You don't need to have formal experience or qualifications or to have worked in residential care before but of course if you have then that will be relevant.)
Anything else?
You need to be calm, committed and have really high standards for being punctual and reliable. You will want to go the extra mile to help look after our young people.
What about training and qualifications?
If you have them already then that is great. Otherwise we will enrol you on an NVQ programme and help and support you with a range of other training opportunities.
We will provide many opportunities for you to advance your knowledge and your practice in your journey with us through training with them and other organisations too. As you would expect, you will be given a full induction.
