Job Summary
We are a growing aluminium campervan accessories company based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, specialising in high-quality, precision-built products for the leisure vehicle industry. Due to continued demand, we are looking for an experienced TIG Welder to join our team on a part-time basis.
You will be responsible for TIG welding aluminium components used in our campervan accessories. This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident in managing their own bench and workflow, with minimal supervision, and working with product jigs to ensure accuracy and consistency.
This role is ideal for someone seeking a better work-life balance or a semi-retired professional who still takes pride in high-quality workmanship.
Duties
- Perform TIG welding on aluminium components to a high standard
- Work with product jigs to ensure repeatability and precision
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Prepare and assemble parts prior to welding
- Inspect finished work to ensure quality and accuracy
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Manage your own workload effectively to meet production needs
- Support other areas of the business when required
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised welding equipment safely and effectively
- Assist in the fabrication process by cutting, shaping, and assembling metal parts according to specifications
- Use basic math skills to measure and mark materials accurately for cutting and welding tasks
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during fabrication processes and suggest improvements where applicable
- Support team members with additional tasks as required to meet project deadlines
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ TIG welding experience
- Proven experience welding aluminium
- Experience working with jigs and fixtures in a production environment
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good knowledge of health & safety procedures in a welding environment
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- NVQ or equivalent welding qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks
- Experience in assembly processes within a manufacturing or workshop environment is desirable
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK

Recruitment Process

- Please allow up to 1 hour for the weld test
- Applicants must bring their own welding helmet
- Successful candidates will be invited to a follow-up interview
