Job summary
Looking for energetic and passionate Sous Chef to join our fantastic restaurant team! You will assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily food operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, and maintaining a vibrant, efficient kitchen environment. Expected working hours will be 5 days a week, with Monday (except bank holiday) being off and the other day is up for discussion on what works best for you. You will be expected to help prep for a few hours before service then assist our head chef in our evening service (Tuesday- Saturday) and Sunday lunch service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills while leading a talented team in delivering memorable dining experiences.
Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, food prep and cooking. To ensure high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
Oversee food production to maintain consistency, quality, and presentation standards across all dishes.
Flexible work ethics to enable work in each section - starter/grill/pastry
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Contribute to menu development by offering innovative ideas and ensuring timely execution of dishes.
Experience
Extensive food production and prep skills, skills in cooking techniques / griddle, pan fry, fryers.
Solid understanding of food safety standards & allergens & sanitation protocols.
Previous restaurant experience is a must & must show versatility across various culinary stations.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and delivering exceptional results.
