Most compliance jobs at this level are a dead end. This one is designed to be the opposite.
Pense is a technology-led retirement advice firm. We've built a large number of assets under management in about eighteen months, we hold a 4.9/5 Trustpilot rating and we do it with our own advice platform rather than the creaking systems most firms put up with. We're small, we move quickly, and there's very little politics.
We're looking for someone to run the day-to-day of our compliance function - and to grow into far more than that.
The role
You'll be the person who keeps the compliance machinery running properly:
- Managing the compliance monitoring calendar and making sure nothing slips
- Maintaining our registers — breaches, complaints, conflicts, gifts, financial promotions
- Coordinating with our external file review partner and tracking remediation actions through to completion
- Keeping CPD and training records current across the adviser team
- Handling FCA Connect submissions and regulatory returns
- Supporting our non-executive compliance director and our external consultant with board reporting
You'll work directly with the leadership team. In a firm this size, the person who owns this is visible, and what you do genuinely matters.
What we'll invest in you
We'll fully fund your Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning - course fees, exam entries and study materials. Not a vague promise of support later on; it starts as soon as you do.
That qualification is the foundation of a career in this industry. It opens the door to compliance management, paraplanning, or advising and we'd far rather you built that career here than somewhere else. This role is deliberately structured as the first step towards leading our compliance function, and we'll back you the whole way.
What we're looking for
You don't need compliance experience. You need:
- Genuine organisation - the sort of person who notices when something hasn't come back
- Comfort chasing people, politely and persistently, including people more senior than you
- Careful, accurate written work
- The confidence to say when something doesn't look right
- An interest in financial services and a real intention to qualify
Experience in financial services administration, paraplanning support, or another regulated environment is welcome but not essential. We'll teach the technical side.
