About the Role
An established electronics manufacturer in Crawley is looking to recruit a Junior Buyer to join its Procurement team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their purchasing career, with some previous procurement experience or a recent graduate looking to develop within a manufacturing environment.
You'll support the purchasing function by helping manage supplier relationships, placing orders, monitoring deliveries and ensuring materials are available to support production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the purchasing team with day-to-day procurement activities.
- Raise and process purchase orders accurately.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, pricing and delivery timescales.
- Monitor supplier deliveries and escalate any delays or issues.
- Assist with sourcing components and obtaining supplier quotations.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and update internal systems.
- Support stock availability and production requirements.
- Work closely with Production, Planning, Engineering and Stores teams.
Requirements
- Some previous experience within purchasing, procurement, supply chain or administration would be advantageous.
- Open to recent graduates with a relevant degree or interest in developing a career within procurement.
- Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail.
- Confident communicating with suppliers and internal teams.
- Good numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- A proactive attitude with the willingness to learn and develop.
Desirable
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or electronics environment.
- Understanding of purchase orders, supplier management or stock control.
- Degree or qualification in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement or a related subject.
