Duties
- Provide one-on-one mentoring sessions to support students’ academic progress and personal development
- Develop personalized learning plans that address individual needs, strengths, and areas for improvement
- Assist students in setting achievable goals and tracking their progress over time
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to coordinate support strategies and share insights
- Create engaging activities that promote confidence, resilience, and positive behavior
- Offer guidance on study skills, organization, time management, and social-emotional skills
- Monitor student attendance and engagement, intervening early when challenges arise to ensure continued progress
Qualifications
- Proven experience in teaching or tutoring within educational settings or youth programs
- Strong background working with children or young people, especially those requiring additional support such as special education needs
- Excellent mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of youth work principles and strategies for supporting emotional well-being
- Effective communication skills to build trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt approaches based on individual student needs and circumstances
- Relevant qualifications in education, youth work or special education are highly desirable
