About MailBakes
MailBakes is a Liverpool-based gifting brand selling personalised Cake Cards through the letterbox.
We are looking for an experienced Organic Social Lead to take full ownership of our organic social channels, including TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat and LinkedIn.
The main priority will be TikTok. We already post regularly, but the account is not performing at the level we want.
The role
You will be responsible for:
- Creating and managing the organic social strategy
- Improving TikTok performance
- Developing content ideas, hooks and recurring series
- Planning weekly and monthly content
- Directing short-form video production
- Reviewing analytics and improving content based on performance
- Managing two social media assistants
- Assigning tasks and reviewing their work
- Working closely with the founders
- Increasing reach, engagement, followers and organic website traffic
- Reporting on results, learnings and next steps
You will have two assistants supporting you with editing, posting, scheduling and community management.
Your role will be to lead the strategy, manage the team and make sure the content performs.
Who we are looking for
You should have:
- Proven experience growing organic social accounts
- Strong TikTok and short-form video experience
- Experience creating content for consumer brands
- A strong understanding of analytics
- The ability to explain why content performed well or poorly
- Experience creating hooks, concepts and repeatable content formats
- Confidence filming and creating content
- Experience managing or directing others
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- The ability to work independently and take ownership
Experience with e-commerce, gifting, food or lifestyle brands would be useful.
What we are not looking for
This role is not suitable for someone who:
- Only wants to schedule and post content
- Focuses on appearance without considering performance
- Relies entirely on trends
- Needs to be given every idea or task
- Does not regularly review analytics
- Measures success only through follower growth
- Uses the same strategy for every platform
- Is uncomfortable filming content
- Does not want responsibility for results
- Cannot manage a small support team
We are not looking for someone to simply keep the accounts active.
We want someone who can improve performance and grow the MailBakes brand.
Location
We would prefer someone based in Liverpool or nearby who can visit the bakery around once per week to film content and work with the team.
We will also consider strong candidates based elsewhere in the UK. Products can be sent to you, and the role can be structured remotely.
