Driver – Mid Devon Mobility

Mid Devon Mobility is looking for a professional, caring and reliable Driver to join our charity and support some of the most vulnerable members of our community. This is a rewarding role where you’ll help older, frail and disabled passengers travel safely and comfortably.
About the Role
The main duty is transporting passengers from Crediton to and from an Adult Centre in Exeter. Additional paid hours may be available providing relief cover for Ring & Ride, School Runs and Community Journeys.
Working Pattern – 26 Hours per Week
Split Shifts:
· Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 07:15 – 09:30 and 14:00 – 16:15
Full Day:
· Thursday Day Trip 08:45 – 16:45
This contract runs for 50 weeks per year and includes 1 hour per week for vehicle cleaning.
You will also be expected to provide holiday and sickness cover to support the wider team when needed.
What We’re Looking For
· A driving licence with D1 or a D1* category (Ideally with no more than 3 points)
· Ideally a DCC Certificate of Competence (or willingness to complete the minibus test)
· A caring, patient and respectful approach to passengers
· Someone physically able to adjust seating and assist wheelchair users when required
· A commitment to safe, responsible driving and following all Devon County Council guidelines
· Willingness to undertake additional training
· Ability to work split shifts reliably
· Enhanced DBS check required (undertaken by us)
About the Work
You will drive MPVs and accessible vehicles (up to 16 seats), ensuring passengers travel safely, comfortably and with dignity. The role includes supporting wheelchair users, completing daily vehicle checks, keeping accurate records, and representing Mid Devon Mobility positively at all times.
