Overview
LUMÉ is looking for an experienced, energetic Senior Barista & Café Shift Leader to work and take ownership of shifts at our speciality café in Wilmslow.
- You’ll prepare consistently excellent coffee, lead the café during your shifts, open and close independently, and help prepare our açaí bowls, toasted sandwiches and mini pancakes.
- We’re looking for someone who works quickly, who can work on their own, takes initiative and notices what needs doing without waiting to be asked.
- You should genuinely care about coffee, customer experience, cleanliness and high standards - even during busy periods.
- Ideally, you’ll have at least three years’ hands-on barista experience in a busy speciality café, with strong espresso, milk-texturing and workflow skills.
This is a hands-on role for someone ambitious, dependable and hungry to grow with an independent brand.
Duties
- Open and close the store
- Lead and supervise café staff during shifts, ensuring smooth operations and high standards of service
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and flair
- Assist in food preparation and cooking to support kitchen operations and maintain quality standards
- Oversee food safety procedures, ensuring compliance with health regulations and cleanliness standards
- Manage inventory levels, restock supplies, and coordinate with suppliers as needed
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests, addressing concerns, and creating a positive environment
- Train new team members on food production, beverage crafting, serving techniques, and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a barista with barista experience in a busy café or restaurant setting for at least 3-4 years
- Supervising or team management experience within hospitality or restaurant environments
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, bartending skills, and food safety standards
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and guide team members effectively
- Familiarity with food production processes, kitchen operations, and hospitality best practices
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly and energetic demeanor
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations while maintaining attention to detail
- The ideal candidate will be based within 3-miles or 15 minutes of the store at SK9 2PL

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
Expected hours: 7.0 – 20.0 per week
