The Role
As a Garden Leisure and Christmas General Assistant, you will support the team in presenting products to the highest standard, creating displays that attract and inspire customers. You will help maintain a welcoming environment and deliver an exceptional shopping experience.
This is a hands-on, varied role, where customer service is key.
The role on one hand is creative merchandising, supporting the department manager setup, implement and maintain retail standards in the Christmas department. On the other hand, during the summer season, setting up Garden Leisure which consists of furniture, BBQs, fire pits and outdoor living essentials. Whilst providing a premium service to sell our range of products. Customer service and being comfortable approaching and talking to customers, whilst picking up and sharing product knowledge with customers and learning systems is key.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and professional service to customers
- Assist with visual merchandising, creating eye-catching displays
- Support stock management, ensuring products are replenished and presented effectively
- Maintain a safe, clean, and attractive environment for customers
- Work independently and as part of a team, adapting to business needs
- Assist with seasonal events, promotions, and POS material
- Heavy lifting ability is a must for the role
The Ideal Candidate
- Enthusiastic and customer-focused, with a passion for seasonal products and garden leisure
- Confident and able to work on your own initiative
- Flexible, positive, and reliable
- Attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
- Experience in retail or garden centre roles is desirable but not essential — full training is provided
This role is for 40 hours a week, with alternate weekends.
