South Devon College is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Engineering professional to join our growing Engineering team. Whether you have previous teaching experience or are looking to move into education for the first time, this is an exciting opportunity to share your skills, inspire future talent, and support learners as they prepare for careers in industry.
Our Engineering provision is part of a fast-growing Technology area, and you will be based within our well-equipped, industry-standard workshops and specialist facilities in the Hi-tech & Digital Centre. Full support will be provided for those wishing to gain a teaching qualification while in post.
As an Engineering Trainer Facilitator, you will:
- Deliver engaging practical and theory-based learning to students studying Engineering programmes.
- Use your industry knowledge to bring engineering concepts to life and help learners develop skills that employers value.
- Work closely with colleagues to plan and coordinate workshop activities, projects and learning programmes.
- Prepare teaching and learning materials that support a range of learning styles and abilities.
- Monitor learner progress and provide guidance to help students achieve their goals.
- Contribute to the continuous development of Engineering programmes, resources and curriculum content.
You will have:
- A Level 3 qualification (or above) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant, recent industry experience within Electrical Engineering.
- A passion for sharing your knowledge and helping others develop their skills.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or equivalent.
You do not need to be a qualified teacher to apply. If you have the right industry experience and enthusiasm to support learners, we will provide guidance and support to help you gain a recognised teaching qualification within an agreed timescale.
