Job Overview
We are looking for a hands-on versatile technician to join our team supporting the build, wiring and assembly of 19" rack systems, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols. This is a multi-functional role suited to someone who enjoys varied technical work and is happy to turn their hand to whatever the job requires. The successful candidate will play a vital part in producing reliable electrical components, contributing to the overall efficiency of our production processes. Duties
- Wire and build 19" racking systems, including mains (AC) and DC power distribution.
- Wire components using hand tools and power tools, ensuring accuracy and safety compliance
- Carry out basic soldering tasks as part of assembly and wiring work
- Conduct quality checks on assembled units, identifying and rectifying any faults or inconsistencies
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Carry out sanding and de-burring of metal and mechanical parts to a good finish.
- Knowledge of surface mount technology (SMT) components and their assembly processes
- Support general workshop tasks and assist other team members as needed.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams accurately
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and safety standards
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience with 19" rack wiring (mains and DC)
- Basic soldering skills, comfortable with hand tools
- Mechanical assembly eperience
- Familiarity with machine shop tools, particularly pilar drills
- Experience with sanding and de-burring metal components
- A flexible can-do attitude - willing to take on varied tasks as required
- Good attention to detail and pride in quality and finished work
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Experience reading wiring diagrams or schematics
- Awareness of basic electrical safety practices
- Previous experience in a workshop, manufacturing, or systems integration environment
