We are a unique state-of-the-art Aeronautical manufacturing facility possessing complex 5 axis machining capabilities for the manufacture of Aerospace components and tooling. This high-end precision engineering Company is a certified supplier to Airbus UK, GKN Aerospace, Spirit AeroSystems, UK.
In 2017 we were the first private sector company in the UK to install a DMG MORI Giga Milling Centre in our Swindon site. To date this is still the only one in the UK.
Having won more new contracts we are now looking to recruit new members of staff for these exciting projects in Swindon.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect complex aerospace components against engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications.
- Perform first-off, in-process, final, and receiving inspections as required.
- Measure dimensional, geometric, positional, and profile tolerances using GD&T.
- Use CMMs, micrometers, verniers, height gauges, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Interpret CMM reports and identify out-of-tolerance conditions.
- Liaise closely with Production teams to support day-to-day operational requirements
- Partner with shop floor personnel to investigate quality concerns and resolve non-conformances
- Assess and determine the disposition of non-conforming parts in line with company procedures
- Collaborate with the Deputy Quality Manager and Engineering teams to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)
- Support the Quality Manager and Deputy Quality Manager in the management of day-to-day quality activities
- Communicate and escalate quality concerns to Production and Engineering teams as appropriate
Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of quality inspection processes within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, GD&T and quality documentation
- Proven problem-solving and fault-finding skills with a methodical approach.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across Production, Engineering, and Quality teams
- Experience investigating non-conformances and supporting corrective actions
- Competent in the use of standard inspection and measuring equipment
Desirable:
- Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
- Knowledge of CMM programming and reporting software (e.g. PC-DMIS, Camio).
- Experience within aerospace, automotive, precision engineering, or a similar regulated manufacturing environment.
