Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Window Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining windows, conservatories/ doors across various sites, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
The role involves working with a variety of hand tools and power tools, and requires a keen eye for detail and safety compliance.
Responsibilities
- Measure and prepare window openings to ensure precise fitting.
- Install new windows in accordance with technical specifications and schematics.
- Repair or replace existing windows/doors as needed, ensuring proper sealing and insulation.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment efficiently and safely.
- Work collaboratively with other trades.
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently during all phases of installation and repair work.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and technical instructions accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote safety and efficiency on site.
Requirements
- Proven experience in window fitting or related construction trades such as carpentry or fabrication.
- Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, masonry, plastering, or construction painting is advantageous.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction environments.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Good physical fitness to handle lifting, climbing ladders, and working at heights safely.
- Awareness of health and safety standards relevant to construction sites.
