This is a senior finance leadership opportunity where you'll play a key role in ensuring CITB's resources are managed effectively, delivering financial insight and strong governance that supports the organisation's strategic objectives. You'll lead the delivery of financial accounting services, ensuring compliance with all statutory and reporting requirements while building confidence in financial performance across the business.
Working closely with the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis and the Finance Director, you'll drive a consistent approach to financial reporting and management information, providing high-quality insight to support decision-making. You'll also help shape the future of the finance function, leading improvements to systems, processes, and ways of working to create a modern, customer-focused finance service.
We're looking for an experienced finance professional who has operated at a senior level within a complex and customer-focused organisation. Experience within a public sector, levy-funded or similarly regulated environment would be highly advantageous, along with a strong understanding of balancing commercial priorities with organisational and stakeholder outcomes.
Financial Operations
: Overseeing the effective and timely operation of the Financial Control function, including financial accounting, treasury, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, tax and compliance and financial systems management.
Financial Reporting:
Preparing accurate financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and regulatory reports.
External financial reporting:
Overseeing the production of the Annual Report & Accounts, liaising with Internal Audit, the NAO and all other stakeholders, as appropriate. Reporting to sponsoring Government department.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
Establishing and enforcing financial policies, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
