The Role
We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Traffic Planner to oversee our daily fleet operations. You will be the central point of contact for our drivers, optimizing delivery and collection routes to minimize mileage, reduce costs, and ensure all skips are exchanged on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Route Optimization: Plan and schedule efficient daily routes for skip and RoRo vehicles across the Southeast area to meet tight delivery windows]
- Driver Management: Brief and debrief drivers, allocate daily workloads, and monitor shift timings to ensure compliance with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive (WTD) legislation]
- Customer Communication: Liaise with clients regarding expected arrival times, access issues, and scheduling changes to maintain our high service standards]
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all transport operations adhere to Health & Safety regulations, tachograph laws, and company policies
- System Management: Update transport management systems in real time, ensuring all paperwork, permits, and job tickets are tracked accurately. Requirements & Experience
- Proven experience as a Traffic Planner, Transport Coordinator, or Transport Dispatcher.
- Strong operational knowledge of the local road network and geographical area.
- Industry Experience: Previous experience in the waste management or skip hire industry is highly desirable.
- Qualifications: A National CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) for Road Haulage is preferred, but not essential.
- Strong IT skills (proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics/routing software).
- The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
