MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To be a member of the management team supervising the firms staff that act as paraplanners, supported by senior management.
Controlling a small team of staff who perform report writing and administrative duties to the firms clients. The objective is to ensure clients are confident, capable and informed about their investment and financial choices, that they are provided timely and compliant advice and that client requests are processed in a timely manner. The Paraplanning supervisor will have responsibility for the New Business Register which records all activities undertaken for clients whether withdrawal requests, the purchase of a new policy or a death claim. The supervisor will allocate the relevant tasks to the team and ensure they are performed adequately. Supervision and workflow planning of the paraplanning team.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervision and day to day management of the paraplanning team.
- Control the new business register and lead weekly sales meetings
- Manage the Report Writing Process on an ongoing basis and implement it in a uniform way across all clients.
- Produce recommendation reports as and when required in line with current regulations in a timely fashion.
- Generate illustrations and supporting documents, preparation of application forms/paperwork for clients
- Liaise with providers to obtain information on client’s existing plans including charges, fund performance, guarantees/safeguarded benefits
- Cash flow modelling
- Processing new business properly and taking ownership for seeing it through to completion.
- Monitor and chase new business/transfers/withdrawals
- Undertake research/due diligence on recommended provides and policies via Synaptics
- Assist with File checks
- Assist the management team with financial promotions and other compliance matters
- Have excellent client relationship skills.
- Client data is held securely and Data Protection considerations are complied with.
- Compliance with the firm’s policies and procedures, including but not limited to health and safety requirements, proceeds of crime act, TCF, whistleblowing and vulnerable clients policies.
- Comply with all reasonable requests from senior team.
- Responsible for ensuring all office duties are carried out to required standards.
- Responsible for ensuring all office equipment is used for required purposes only and to the correct standard.
- Control of maintaining and developing the firms client facing documentation including fact finds, clients agreements and GDPR notifications.
Requirements
· Excellent paraplanning knowledge and experience
Previous experience in running a team
· Advanced knowledge of excel (using financial formulas and creating spreadsheets)
· Excellent numeracy skills, accuracy & attention to detail
· Strong communication skills written and verbal
· Team player and flexible attitude
