We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional to help us launch Bakewell's newest specialty coffee & brunch spots, serving artisan pizza in the evening.
The role we are hiring for is a general front of house hero to serve guests both on the till and the floor, prepare beautiful coffees on our la marzocco coffee machine with Darkwoods specialty beans and help the owners establish their new business in the community.
About us
Berty's of Bakewell is run by husband and wife team James & Georgia Nixon who have spent their careers working in the Peak District's top gastropubs and cafés. Named after their dog, Berty's is the culmination of their passion and experience, aiming to become Bakewell's number one brunch destination and serve the best coffee in the area.
Future plans for the business include bistro nights, special events in our upstairs space and utilising our gorgeous courtyard to offer alfresco dining and drinking for the local community and foody tourists/ day trippers.

Working with Darkwoods specialty coffee roasters allows us to send our staff to the roastery and get industry accredited barista training as well.

What we expect from you
Any and all training will be provided, as hands on owners we assume responsibility for all fronts and back of house operations, your job is to support us and follow instruction and procedures clearly laid out and managed by us.
Passion for service is an absolute must, we want Berty's to become the community hub and the favoured coffee spot for Bakewell locals. This can only be achieved if every guest walking through the door is made to feel welcome and valued, which is where you come in!
Past experience is a benefit and we are more than happy to collaborate with you on improving operations, taking on your ideas and utilising past experience to help the business. That being said your attitude and personality is far more important to us and we are committed to spending the time and effort to bring your skills up to par no matter where you're starting from.
