PAINTER & DECORATOR – FULL TIME

PDP Property Services Ltd are looking for an experienced Painter & Decorator to join our team.
We are a Lancaster-based building and maintenance contractor carrying out refurbishment, planned maintenance and reactive repair works across Lancashire and the North West.
Our work is mainly within schools, fire stations, council buildings, care facilities, commercial premises and other public-sector properties.
THE ROLE
The work is varied and will include:
- Internal and external painting and decorating
- Preparation of walls, ceilings, doors and woodwork
- Filling, sanding and making good
- Painting walls and ceilings
- Painting doors, frames, skirting and other woodwork
- Applying emulsion, gloss, satin and specialist coatings
- Wallpapering and hanging wallcoverings
- Paint spraying, including preparation, masking and protection of surrounding areas
- Preparation and decoration of previously painted surfaces
- Minor plaster and surface repairs prior to decoration
- External preparation and painting
- Refurbishment and planned maintenance works
- Reactive decorating and making-good works
A large proportion of our work is carried out in occupied buildings, so you must be able to work cleanly, safely and with consideration for building users.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Applicants should:
- Be experienced in painting and decorating
- Have a good standard of preparation and finishing
- Be competent in wallpapering and hanging wallcoverings
- Spraying experience would be an advantage
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Take pride in the quality of their work
- Be reliable and punctual
- Be able to plan their work and use materials efficiently
- Keep work areas clean and tidy
- Be comfortable working in schools, care facilities, fire stations and other occupied premises
- Deal professionally with clients, site staff and members of the public
- Follow RAMS and company Health & Safety procedures
- Hold afull UK driving licence
An NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Painting & Decorating would be preferred, although experienced applicants without a formal qualification will also be considered.

As a large proportion of our work is carried out in schools, care facilities and other public buildings, the successful applicant will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

We provide building, refurbishment and maintenance services to public-sector and commercial clients throughout Lancashire and the North West.
We are looking for someone who is experienced, dependable and takes pride in producing a good-quality finish.

Salary: Competitive – dependent on experience
