What do we need?
We are looking for someone to be the welcoming face of The Charleston. You will assist in creating memorable first impressions and setting the tone for the guest experience. We are looking for someone who will create a refined atmosphere and ensure every guest feels valued.
About the job:
You will be responsible for more than just managing arrivals, you will:
- Provide a warm welcome: You will greet and welcome guests with warmth and professionalism, ensuring you create an exceptional first impression
- Manage reservations: You will take care of the booking system, ensuring seating arrangements create an efficient flow of service.
- Have an eye for detail: You will monitor reservations, ensuring guest requests are accomodated where possible.
- Maintain presentation: You will maintain the presentation of menus and reception area to the highest of standards.
- Monitor seating: You will monitor the restaurant and bar floor for availability to ensure service flow and guest satisfaction
- Communicate effectively: You will maintain clear communication with the restaurant and kitchen team to support smooth operations across the venue.
- Guest communication: You will respond promptly to guest enquiries, whether this is through email or phone.
- Team Work: You will support the team in creating a memorable guest experience and supporting the flow of service. Whether this is clearing tables, delivering drinks or resetting tables, you will be ready to jump in and lend a hand when needed.
Skills & Requirements
- Previous experience in a host/hostess role within a high-paced environment is desirable but not essential.
- Strong understanding of the importance of providing an exceptional guest experience.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple jobs
- Excellent communication skills, with a warm and engaging manner
- Impeccable personal presentation
- The ability to work collaboratively with different teams.
Due to the location of the venue the successful applicant must have a full UK driving license with reliable access to their own vehicle.
