Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Assistant Depot Manager to assist the daily operations of our Milton Keynes depot. and play a vital role in optimizing our logistics and warehouse operations. Responsibilities
- Assist the Depot Manager in overseeing daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
- Supervise warehouse staff, ensuring safety protocols are followed and productivity targets are met.
- Coordinate transportation management systems (TMS) to optimize delivery schedules and freight movements.
- Support process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Manage warehouse management system (WMS) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems to track inventory accuracy and streamline workflows.
- Oversee forklift operations, ensuring proper training, certification, and safe handling of materials.
- Monitor profit & loss statements to support financial accountability and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a logistics or warehouse environment.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics management, and warehouse operations.
- Hands-on experience with transportation management systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and AS400 platforms.
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) providers, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead process improvements that enhance operational performance.
- Warehouse experience with forklift certification is highly preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with a focus on safety compliance and operational accuracy.
