Senior Electrician / NICEIC Qualified Supervisor – Solar & Commercial

Salary: Circa £45,000 per year, depending on experience

The Role
DSM Solutions is looking for an experienced Senior Electrician / NICEIC Qualified Supervisor to join our growing team.
This is a senior technical position with responsibility for helping ensure DSM remains NICEIC compliant, maintaining electrical installation standards and carrying out inspection, testing, certification and sign-off.
The successful candidate may also lead and supervise apprentices and less experienced electricians, helping develop DSM's electrical team.
Our immediate growth area is Solar PV and battery storage, although the role will cover the full range of DSM's commercial and industrial electrical work.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as DSM's NICEIC Qualified Supervisor
- Maintain NICEIC compliance and prepare for assessments
- Inspection, testing, certification and sign-off
- Ensure installations comply with BS 7671 and relevant standards
- Solar PV and battery storage installation and commissioning
- Commercial and industrial electrical installation
- Provide technical guidance to other engineers
- Supervise and develop apprentices
- Help develop DSM's electrical and renewable-energy capability
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should be fully qualified electricians and ideally hold:
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent
- AM2
- Current 18th Edition
- 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent
- ECS/JIB Gold Card or equivalent
- Solar PV qualification and practical installation experience
- Full UK driving licence
Previous experience as an NICEIC Qualified Supervisor is strongly preferred. Applicants without previous QS experience must be able to demonstrate the qualifications, experience and competence necessary to undertake the role.
Experience with MCS requirements, Solar PV, battery storage, G98/G99 and commercial renewable installations would be particularly valuable.
Employment Options
Our preference is a permanent full-time appointment at circa £45,000, depending on experience.
However, we are also open to discussing:
- Long-term subcontract arrangements with suitably qualified electricians
- Existing NICEIC Qualified Supervisors looking for a long-term position
- A commercial partnership with an established small electrical/NICEIC business
