Pay: £13.80–£15.50 per hour, depending on experience and skill level
Hours: 40 hours per week, over 5 days
Shift: Afternoon / evening shifts, starting between 3pm and 5pm

About Mamoosh
Mamoosh is a family-run Middle Eastern bakery in Newhaven, established in 2015. We are a growing business with an excellent reputation, specialising in freshly baked artisan pitta bread for the wholesale and retail trade.
As our business continues to expand, we are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable full-time Baker to join our experienced production team.
About the Role
This is a permanent, full-time position working as part of our experienced bakery team. The role is physical and fast-paced and is best suited to someone who enjoys hands-on work and working as part of a team.
Your starting rate will reflect your experience, knowledge, skills and ability to work independently. Pay and performance will be reviewed after three months.
As Mamoosh continues to grow, there will be opportunities for training, development and career progression.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Mixing and preparing dough
- Operating bakery equipment and machinery
- Baking and monitoring product quality
- Packing finished products
- Checking stock levels
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene
- Working efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a minimum of 2 years' professional baking experience
- Has knowledge of baking, bakery products and ingredients
- Is comfortable using bakery equipment, including commercial mixers
- Can follow recipes and production instructions accurately
- Has a good understanding of food hygiene
- Can carry out basic maths tasks
- Is organised and methodical, with good attention to detail
- Can work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Can prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Works well both as part of a team and independently
- Has good communication skills and a good understanding of written and spoken English
- Is reliable and comfortable working afternoon and evening shifts
