Are you an experienced Structured Cabling Engineer looking for an exciting new challenge? UCtel Ltd is a leading provider of in-building mobile signal boosting and cellular enhancement solutions. We are seeking a dedicated Cabling Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in deploying cutting-edge connectivity solutions for a diverse range of clients, from small businesses to large enterprises.
This is a permanent, full-time field position. While you will be based out of your home, this role requires daily UK-wide travel to customer sites (with a company van provided).
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Technical Director, your core duties will include:
- Data & Network Cabling: Installing, routing, terminating, dressing, and testing Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A network cabling infrastructure.
- Coaxial Cabling (Preferred): Expertly handling, terminating, and installing Coax cabling for cellular/RF boosting systems.
- Containment & Hardware Installation: Fitting containment, trunking, traywork, patch panels, antennas, and radio units as required per project specifications.
- Deployment Support: Assisting with site surveys, hardware configuration, and site sign-offs.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate:
- Proven Experience: Practical background in structured data cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A termination and testing required; Coax experience preferred).
- Location: Must reside within a 60-minute commute of Leatherhead, Surrey.
- Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence (clean preferred; company van provided for business use).
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel nationwide (often at short notice) with occasional overnight stays, weekend, or out-of-hours work.
- Working at Heights: Comfortable working in challenging physical environments, including on roofs, ladders, and high-level containment (ECS/CSCS, IPAF, or PASMA certifications are a plus).
- Professional Demeanour: Excellent customer-facing skills and strong communication.
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
