About the role:
Cerebrum Systems Ltd is looking for an organised and technically minded Project Manager to oversee projects from initial planning through to successful completion for Audio Visual & Home Automation projects.
Working from our office and at customer sites, you will coordinate engineers, suppliers, subcontractors and clients to ensure every project is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You will act as the main point of contact throughout the project lifecycle, keeping all parties informed and ensuring that timescales, budgets and technical requirements are met.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager within the Home Automation & AV industry—or someone with a strong technical background ready to progress into project management—to join a growing business.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage technical projects from initial handover through to completion.
- Develop project plans, schedules, budgets and resource requirements.
- Coordinate engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
- Attend customer sites to oversee progress, installations and commissioning.
- Act as the principal point of contact for customers throughout each project.
- Review project specifications, drawings and technical documentation.
- Monitor project costs, timescales, risks and quality standards.
- Identify potential delays or issues and take appropriate corrective action.
- Work alongside the procurement team to acquire and deliver equipment and materials.
- Ensure work complies with company procedures, health and safety requirements and relevant industry standards.
- Conduct progress meetings and provide clear project updates.
- Maintain accurate project records and prepare handover documentation.
- Support the estimating, sales and engineering teams when required.
- Ensure projects are completed to the customer’s satisfaction.
About you:
The successful candidate will be practical, organised and confident managing several priorities at once. You will communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and take ownership of delivering a successful outcome. Ideally working within the Home Automation & Audio Visual industry or relevant industries.
You should have:
- Previous experience in project management, project coordination or a relevant technical role.
- Experience within the Smart Home/Home Automation/Audio Visual OR other relevant industries.
- A good understanding of engineering, electrical, electronic, IT or other technical systems such as Control4, Lutron, Rako, Sonos etc.
- Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage budgets, schedules and project documentation.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Confidence working independently and making decisions.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- A strong awareness of health and safety responsibilities.
- A full UK driving licence.
- The flexibility to travel to customer sites as required.
A relevant technical or project management qualification would be beneficial but is not essential. Training and development may be provided for the right candidate.
What we offer:
- Salary of £35,000+, based on experience.
- Company car or van (with a fuel card).
- Private healthcare.
- Workplace pension.
- A varied role combining office-based work with customer-site visits.
- Opportunities for professional development and career progression.
- The chance to manage a broad range of technical projects within a growing company.
Working arrangements:
This is a hybrid position with time split based in the office supporting the Technical Director and on sites. The successful candidate must therefore hold a full UK driving licence and be comfortable travelling as required.
Pay: From £35,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Company car
- Company pension
