We are seeking a practical and motivated Production Support Engineer to support the LVS Mechanical Design Team and Modular products, including Skids and PODs. The successful candidate will provide production-facing engineering support, helping to resolve design queries, support controlled design changes and improve manufacturability across Anord Mardix products. This role is key to supporting safe, efficient and high-quality delivery within critical power.
What a typical day looks like:
- Provide day-to-day mechanical engineering support to production for LV Switchgear and Modular products.
- Support the resolution of production issues, technical queries, build concerns and manufacturing RFIs.
- Review and update manufacturing drawings, general arrangements, models and Bills of Materials where required.
- Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) from production issue identification through to implementation, ensuring actions, approvals, drawing/model updates, BOM changes and production cut-in requirements are clearly controlled and communicated.
- Support and review design & engineering corrective and preventative action’s (CAPA’s).
- Support Product Change Notices (PCN’s) ensuring updates are controlled through the appropriate document control processes.
- Defining, creating and implementing Production Support standard operating procedures (SOPS’s).
- Work closely with Mechanical Design, Production, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Project Management and Electrical Design teams to support project delivery.
- Assist with design for manufacture, standardisation and continuous improvement activities.
- Support production reviews, internal root cause investigations and corrective actions where engineering input is required.
- Provide support during FAT, internal testing and customer witness activities where required.
- Maintain accurate and complete engineering records in line with Anord Mardix document control requirements.
- Contribute to Engineering Excellence by identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, safety and delivery performance.
- Promote proactive risk identification, mitigation and resolution throughout the production and project lifecycle.
- Ensure all work is performed in line with Anord Mardix Quality Management System and company Health and Safety requirements.
The experience we’re looking to add to the team:
- Relevant mechanical engineering qualification, such as HNC/HND, degree or comparable industrial experience.
- Experience within a mechanical design, production support, manufacturing engineering or product support role.
- Experience with LV Switchgear, modular power systems, Skids, PODs or similar engineered-to-order products is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD tools, preferably Autodesk Inventor or similar.
- Knowledge of PLM/PDM systems such as Autodesk Vault is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs and production documentation.
- Good understanding of change control, document control and manufacturing support processes.
- Practical, proactive and flexible approach to problem solving.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication; verbal, written and presentational skills are essential.
- Ability to work independently while supporting wider team goals and business priorities.
- A full UK driving licence is required, where occasional travel between sites as required.
