You will be working in the Building Services OU based in Derby Hospital in where we are responsible for supporting hospitals nationwide, ensuring clean, well-ventilated, and heated spaces that aid patient recovery. We help cut energy use, carbon emissions, and waste costs, drawing on global best practice from over 400 healthcare projects.
We are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor who will manage the delivery of all commercial aspects of a portfolio of projects, from assessing subcontractor applications, submitting valuations to the client, managing the project risk allowances and provisional sums and managing the junior staff on the projects.
As the Quantity Surveyor, you will:
- Be responsible for the production of contract documentation, including the scope and supporting the agreement of terms and conditions.
- Ensuring Project Managers adhere to contractual obligations.
- Tendering of new works, including assessing tenders and creating pricing documents.
- Understand the significance/interfaces between Capital Works, maintenance and lifecycle activities.
- The monthly commercial management of a portfolio of change and lifecycle projects incl. accurate reporting for monthly cost value reconciliation and change management.
We are looking for:
- Degree or equivalent level qualification in Quantity Surveying or related construction subject is desirable.
- Minimum 5 year’s experience.
- Relevant commercial experience within a contracting organisation, ideally in FM environment but not essential.
- Strong contractual mindset.
