About Us:
We are a fourth-generation mixed farming business in Essex, between Ongar and Chelmsford. We farm c. 400 ha of combinable crops and offer contract farming services including slurry and digestate application. Our 600-sow unit raises progeny that are finished on the same site and on another site in East Anglia. The business also includes food manufacturing, renewables, property, woodland and Countryside Stewardship.
Main responsibilities:
- Tractor Operations - drilling, cultivations, combining, slurry application, fertiliser and pesticide application.
- Machinery Maintenance - servicing of all implements and any machinery not under service contracts.
- Property Maintenance - ditching, hedges, woodland, tracks, yards and buildings.
- Record Keeping - ensuring accurate operation records are submitted in a timely manner, stock management of machinery spares and crop inputs.
Who It Suits:
Well suited to an existing tractor operator who has experience of most, if not all, of the tractor operations listed above. Previous experience for this role is essential. We are looking for someone who is a good operator, has a thorough approach to every task and can set & follow high standards.
To be successful in the role, you will need to be passionate about your work, polite, a team player, motivated, willing to listen and learn, enthusiastic, positive and able to work under pressure.
Requirements:

- Full UK Driver's License.
- At least 2 year's experience in a similar role.
- An ability to set and meet high standards ie being thorough, accurate and efficient in every task undertaken.
- A calm, polite and positive manner.
- An ability to adapt to changing plans due to weather, breakdowns and any other events.

- Masted Forklift

Further Details:
The successful candidate would become a key part of our farming operations and the package on offer is reflective of that. The starting rate for the successful applicant will depend on what investment in further training is required.
