Primary Purpose: Working as part of the Quality Department to support all areas of production to ensure that the Company Quality objectives are met by performing checks throughout the manufacture cycle to ensure the correct processes are followed in accordance with the Company’s Quality Manual.
Key Responsibilities
· Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
· Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production.
· Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
· Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; inputting data into quality database.
· Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions, calling for repairs.
· Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
· Auditing processes where required.
· Completing Non-Conforming Reports with root cause analysis.
· Carry out screening of stock and WIP to support robust containment of customer or internal non-conformance.
· To work closely with production personnel carrying out first off, final, and random inspections using CMM and Mechanical inspection equipment
· Provide training and guidance to inspect using best practice.
· To work closely with Production Manager to ensure priorities are met.
· Ensures calibration system is kept up to date
Person Specification
- Proven experience as quality inspector or relevant role.
- A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
- Responsible and trustworthy.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems – CMM, Vision machines.
- Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies.
- Working knowledge of MS Office.
