About the role
More Than Safety is looking for a practical, organised and enthusiastic Operations & Solutions Support Executive to support our management team, office team and clients.
This is a varied role combining office administration, customer enquiry support, product sourcing, supplier liaison and client-facing site work. The successful candidate will help the team respond to customer enquiries, source both regular and unusual products, use internal systems and supplier resources, and support client activity such as meetings, inspections, PPE reviews, uniform sizing days, product trials and surveys.
This is not a desk-only role. Some weeks will be mainly office-based, while others may involve travel to client sites across the country, including regular travel to London.
Knowledge of tools, PPE, uniforms, workwear or safety products would be useful, but it is not essential. We are much more interested in someone with the right attitude, aptitude, curiosity and willingness to learn.
About More Than Safety
More Than Safety is a specialist supplier supporting clients across facilities management, safety, PPE, workwear, tools, test equipment, signage and compliance-led supply.
We work with major national clients and pride ourselves on being practical, responsive and solutions-focused. Our customers often come to us with a wide range of requests — from everyday products through to unusual, technical or difficult-to-source items.
We are looking for someone who enjoys helping people, finding answers and getting involved.
What you will be doing
You will support the management team and wider office with customer enquiries, product research, supplier information and general administration.
You will help find regular products through our systems, as well as using Indicative, supplier catalogues, online resources and direct supplier contact to source more obscure or unusual products.
You will support account managers and directors with product information, pricing, availability, alternatives and preparation for client meetings or projects.
You will also attend client sites across the UK to support practical activity such as:
- client meetings
- uniform and workwear sizing days
- PPE reviews and surveys
- tool inspections
- product trials
- site visits
- mobilisation projects
- client reviews and project support
You will be expected to represent More Than Safety professionally when visiting clients and to feed accurate information back to the office team.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting customer and internal enquiries.
- Finding products using internal systems, Indicative and supplier resources.
- Sourcing obscure, unusual or difficult-to-find products.
- Liaising with suppliers for pricing, specifications, lead times and alternatives.
- Supporting the management team with project tasks and information gathering.
- Helping prepare for client meetings, product trials and site visits.
- Attending client sites across the UK, including regular travel to London.
- Supporting inspections, surveys, sizing days and client-facing project work.
- Keeping accurate records and notes on internal systems.
- Working with sales, operations, purchasing and management to keep projects moving.
- Learning about PPE, tools, uniforms, workwear and safety products over time.
The person we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is practical, organised, confident and curious.
You do not need to be a technical expert. We can teach product knowledge. What matters most is that you are willing to learn, good at finding information, confident speaking with people and happy to get stuck in.
You should be comfortable working in a busy office environment, handling several tasks at once, and travelling to client sites when required.
Essential requirements
- Strong administration and organisational skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident using email, spreadsheets, online systems and search tools.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to research products and information accurately.
- Comfortable speaking with suppliers, colleagues and clients.
- Practical, positive and willing to learn.
- Flexible approach to travel.
- Comfortable with national travel, including regular travel to London.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable but not essential
- Experience in customer service, sales support, purchasing, operations or product sourcing.
- Knowledge of PPE, tools, uniforms, workwear or safety products.
- Experience using supplier portals, product databases or stock systems.
- Experience attending client sites, meetings, surveys or inspections.
- Experience in a business-to-business supply environment.
- Understanding of facilities management or compliance-led supply.
What we offer
- Salary of £31,000–£36,500 depending on experience.
- Business travel expenses.
- A varied role with office-based and client-facing work.
- Training and support to develop product knowledge.
- Opportunity to work across major national client accounts.
- A practical, friendly and supportive team environment.
- The chance to build a broad understanding of operations, product sourcing, client support and project delivery.
Why this role may suit you
This role would suit someone who enjoys variety and does not want to do the same thing every day.
You may currently be working in customer service, sales support, purchasing, operations, administration, product sourcing or field support. You may already know PPE, tools or workwear, or you may simply be a quick learner with a good attitude.
The key thing is that you enjoy finding answers, helping people and solving problems.
How to apply
Please send your CV and a short covering note explaining why you think you would suit the role.
We are particularly interested in people who are organised, curious, practical and willing to learn. Existing product knowledge is helpful, but aptitude and attitude are more important.
