Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Classic Car Technician to join our growing workshop team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on some of the world's finest historic and collector vehicles, carrying out everything from routine servicing and mechanical repairs to full concours restorations. The successful candidate will possess excellent mechanical knowledge, outstanding attention to detail and a genuine appreciation for traditional engineering and craftsmanship.
Working closely with our restoration, fabrication, trim and engine departments, you will play a key role in preserving and enhancing some of the most significant classic cars in the world. Every project is different, offering a varied and rewarding workload in a workshop that prides itself on quality above all else.
Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on a wide range of classic and historic vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and drivability faults using traditional and modern diagnostic techniques.
- Rebuild and overhaul engines, gearboxes, suspension, braking systems and driveline components.
- Remove, repair and refit mechanical assemblies as part of full vehicle restorations.
- Prepare vehicles for concours events, road use and historic motorsport.
- Work closely with fabrication, paint and trim departments throughout restoration projects.
- nterpret workshop manuals, technical drawings and original manufacturer documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard while maintaining originality and authenticity wherever possible.
- Maintain accurate job records and contribute to project planning.
- Keep the workshop clean, organised and compliant with health and safety procedures.
Skills
- Proven experience working on classic or historic vehicles.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across a broad range of classic automotive systems.
- Experience rebuilding engines, transmissions, suspension and braking systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to diagnose faults confidently and methodically.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a highly skilled team.
