We are looking for a motivated, customer-focused Assistant Store Manager to join our Burton upon Trent team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong retail experience who enjoys leading by example, developing a team and delivering an outstanding shopping experience.
The Role
As Assistant Store Manager, you will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the branch. You will lead from the shop floor, inspire colleagues to provide exceptional customer service and help drive sales whilst maintaining the high standards Brigdens is known for.
This role requires someone who is organised, commercially aware and passionate about delivering a premium retail experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and build lasting customer relationships.
- Lead, motivate and coach the sales team to achieve individual and store targets.
- Drive sales through excellent product knowledge and confident selling techniques.
- Ensure the store is presented to the highest visual merchandising standards.
- Assist with staff training, onboarding and ongoing development.
- Manage stock levels, replenishment and stock accuracy.
- Open and close the store when required.
- Support the store's social media presence by creating engaging content, promoting new arrivals, sales and events, and contributing to local marketing campaigns.
- Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve results.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Maintain a safe, secure and welcoming shopping environment.
Skills & Experience
- Previous retail management or supervisory experience.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and people management abilities.
- Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Commercial awareness and confidence using sales data to drive performance.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Positive, proactive and professional attitude.
- Flexible approach, including weekend working.
- Confident using social media platforms for business, with an eye for photography, content creation and promoting a premium retail brand.
- Experience within premium fashion, menswear or tailoring is desirable but not essential.
