Leighton Rose Care Home are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Co-Ordinator to coordinate engaging programmes and activities for residents. Responsibilities for Activities Co-Ordinator
- Develop and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and needs of residents, including those with dementia.
- Organise social events, recreational programmes, and therapeutic activities that encourage participation and foster community spirit.
- Collaborate with care staff to assess individual resident preferences and abilities, ensuring activities are inclusive and accessible.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity feedback to inform programme improvements.
- Coordinate volunteers and external entertainers or service providers as needed to enrich activity offerings.
- Promote resident involvement through effective communication, encouragement, and personalised engagement strategies.
- Ensure all activities adhere to health and safety standards, including infection control protocols, especially during ongoing health concerns.
Qualifications for Activities Co-Ordinator
- Proven experience working within a care home environments, with a strong understanding of senior care needs.
- Prior experience in dementia is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with residents of varying cognitive abilities.
- Strong organisational skills to plan, coordinate, and evaluate engaging programmes effectively.
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in enhancing the quality of life for older adults through meaningful activities.
- Relevant qualifications in social work, recreational therapy, or related fields are advantageous but not essential.
