Turn ideas into action. Keep things moving. Make sure nothing important slips.
Red Volcano is looking for someone who gets things over the line.
We're a small, highly successful AdTech business that runs lean, moves quickly, and relies on smart technology to get the most from a talented team. We don't have layers of management or endless meetings. When something needs doing, we work out what matters and get on with it.
That way of working suits some people brilliantly, and others prefer more structure around them. If you're the sort who'd rather just get on and make things happen, you'll feel right at home.
This is a Chief of Staff role, though not a full one yet. Our CEO keeps the people leadership and the strategy. Your job is to make sure things actually happen. Think of it as the way into a Chief of Staff career. It's a hands-on role where you take ownership of the initiatives that keep the business moving. One week you might be implementing a new internal system. The next you could be coordinating a customer compliance project, organising our presence at a major industry event, or making sure a business-critical initiative gets delivered.
You'll work closely with our CEO, who's one of the world's leading AdTech experts. He sets the direction, and you take it from there: organise the work, coordinate the right people, clear the blockers, and see it through.
What you'll actually do
- Drive internal business projects from idea through to completion
- Coordinate work across teams so everyone knows what they own and when it's due
- Follow up on actions and hold people to their commitments
- Keep things moving when priorities shift, and clear the blockers that get in the way
- Improve processes and bring in the tools and automations that help us work smarter
- Own internal documentation, SOPs and CRM quality
- Coordinate suppliers, legal and admin activity, customer onboarding and compliance
- Spot problems before they become bigger ones
In practice, "Can you sort this?" might mean:
- A major customer won't sign until we prove we meet their data and security requirements. You work out what's needed, pull in the right people, and get it done on time.
- An internal project has stalled because teams have different priorities. You bring clarity, get everyone aligned again, and put it back on track.
- We want to exhibit at a major industry event. You handle the logistics, organise the team, get the right meetings booked, and make sure it earns its keep commercially.
Who you are
You bring organisation and momentum to busy places. Give you an objective and you'll work out how to get there, pull in the right people, and keep going until it's done, without anyone having to stand over you.
- At your best in a small, fast-moving team where you can just get on with things
- Degree qualified in business or a discipline with strong analytical skills
- Highly organised and calm, especially when things aren't
- Proactive, and you tend to spot problems before other people do
- Confident coordinating and influencing people you don't formally manage
- Good at turning ideas into clear plans, and at prioritising when everything's happening at once
- Curious about technology, always looking for smarter ways of working
- Happy to push back constructively when priorities need challenging
- Ambitious, and ready to take on more than your current role has allowed so far
This is a step-up role, so you don't need to have done it before. You might be an operations or project coordinator, an executive assistant, or just the person who's quietly become the one who makes things happen and is ready for real ownership now. What matters is that you can point to times you've taken something messy and unclear and driven it all the way through, in a small and fast-moving environment. Experience in a technology business helps, but it isn't essential.
Why it matters
You'll sit right at the centre of a growing technology business, as the person who makes sure good ideas actually turn into reality. Our CEO will trust you with real problems and give you the room to solve them. We run deliberately lean, getting a lot done with a small team and the smart use of technology, so you'll be building on solid foundations and helping shape how the business runs as we grow.
For the right person, this is a way into a full Chief of Staff role as Red Volcano scales.
