We're looking for a passionate Children's Dance Teacher to join our growing team across our two locations in Altofts (Wakefield) and Rothwell (Leeds).
We are an IDTA-affiliated school, but welcome applications from teachers with qualifications from all recognised dance associations.
About the Role
We're looking for someone who genuinely loves working with children and is passionate about helping them grow in confidence both inside and outside the dance studio.
Initially, the role will involve teaching a mixture of preschool and primary-aged classes, with opportunities to expand your timetable as the school continues to grow.
Dance styles include:
- Ballet
- Tap
- Commercial
- Musical Theatre
- Acro
You'll also have the opportunity to choreograph performances, contribute to our twice-yearly theatre productions and become an integral part of our teaching team.

Essential:
- Experience teaching dance to children.
- Strong technical knowledge of the dance styles you teach.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- Patience, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for teaching dance.
Desirable:
- IDTA Associate/Level 4 qualification or equivalent teaching qualification from another recognised dance organisation.
- Experience teaching Ballet, Tap, Commercial and Musical Theatre across a range of age groups.
- Acro qualifications or experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Level 3 Paediatric First Aid.
- Level 2 Safeguarding qualification.

The Person We're Looking For:

Hours
Approximately 6-10 hours per week initially, with opportunities for additional teaching, cover work and workshops as the school grows.
Available times and days:
Tuesdays 4-7pm
Thursdays 4-6pm
Friday 4-8:30pm
Saturdays 9-4pm
Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings are essential.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Freelance, Graduate
Pay: £18.00-£30.00 per hour
