Assistant Cleaning Manager – Central Cambridge

We have an excellent opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to join a market-leading company and support the delivery of cleaning services across a prestigious, high-profile contract in central Cambridge.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in contract cleaning, commercial cleaning, soft services or facilities management who is ready to develop their career as an Assistant Cleaning Manager.
Your Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day management of a busy cleaning contract
- Lead, motivate and support on-site cleaning teams
- Coordinate staffing, rotas, attendance and operational requirements
- Maintain high standards of cleaning, hygiene and customer service
- Conduct site inspections, cleaning audits and quality checks
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, including COSHH requirements
- Support employee recruitment, induction, training and development
- Help resolve operational issues and client concerns promptly
- Drive continuous improvement, service quality and operational efficiency
About You
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Experience in contract cleaning, commercial cleaning, soft services or facilities support
- Previous experience as a Cleaning Supervisor, Cleaning Team Leader, Site Supervisor or Assistant Cleaning Manager
- Strong leadership, people-management and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- A proactive, hands-on and solutions-focused approach
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment
- Good IT and administrative skills
- A flexible approach to working hours in line with operational requirements
- A full UK driving licence
Due to the operational requirements of the position, we are ideally looking for candidates who live within approximately 40 minutes’ travelling distance of the CB2 postcode area and can reliably travel to central Cambridge.
