QE2 Activity Centre is a charity in Hedge End, Southampton providing day services and activities for adults with learning disabilities. Our goal is to provide meaningful, stimulating and interesting activities in a safe, positive environment for people with learning disabilities.
Our charity is looking for a Support Worker to work across our day service groups for a competitive rate of pay. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with adults with learning disabilities.
Job Purpose:
Assisting with providing day service for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs
To work effectively in all areas as experiences and qualifications allow
Main duties
- Assisting with planning, implementing and monitoring individual and group activity programmes
- Reporting to DSO target management (assessment of individual needs, setting, reviewing and developing individual service user targets)
- delivering programmes to meet the needs of service users
- accurate record keeping
- attending to the social and emotional needs of service users,
- a commitment to attend staff training and to participate in your own development through supervision and performance development
- responsible for ensuring that the work you undertake is conducted in a manner which is safe for yourself, colleagues and service users
- To undertake any other responsibilities and duties as appropriate to the nature of the post
