Job Title: Retail Operations Manager
Location: Unit 6, Conqueror Court, Spilsby Rd, Romford RM3 8SB
Contract Type: Full time, 40 Hours a week
Salary Range: £30,000 - £37,000 per year
Overview:
Our love affair with cakes began back in 2002 when we opened our first Cakes & Bakes branch in Eastham, London.
We imagined a place where customers searching for scrumptious eggless cakes and savouries could discover a wide range fit for any occasion, without paying through the roof.
Duties:
1. Store Operations Management
- Supervise and support the day-to-day operations of all 22 retail bakery locations.
- Ensure consistent adherence to operational standards, cleanliness, and safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels, product freshness, and supply chain efficiency.
- Coordinate store openings, closings, and maintenance.
2. Team Leadership & Development
- Manage, train, and motivate store managers and frontline staff to deliver excellent customer service and meet sales targets.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and coaching.
- Implement training programs on product knowledge, customer service, hygiene, and safety.
3. Sales Performance & Reporting
- Analyze sales data and KPIs across all locations to identify trends and opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing and finance to set revenue goals and budgets.
- Develop strategies to increase footfall, average transaction value, and overall profitability.
4. Quality & Brand Standards
- Maintain consistent product quality and customer experience in line with the Cakes & Bakes brand.
- Work with the production team to ensure efficient supply of baked goods and seasonal items.
- Monitor customer feedback and manage service recovery when needed.
5. Compliance & Audits
- Ensure compliance with health and safety laws, food hygiene standards, and labor regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections across outlets.
- Implement corrective actions and follow-up plans as needed.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in multi-store retail or F&B operations
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in inventory, sales reporting, and team training
- Willingness to travel between locations
