- Character: Highly reliable, resilient under pressure, and accountable. Excellent timekeeping and attendance are mandatory.
- Eligibility: Must have the right to work in the UK.
About Us & The Role Skipper's Pet Products is a growing UK manufacturer of natural fish treats for dogs. We take pride in our high standards and are looking for a hands-on, driven leader to help run our factory day-to-day.
As the Deputy Factory Manager, you will act as the Factory Manager’s second-in-command. This is a leadership role with real responsibility from day one: when the Manager is off-site, you take full charge to keep operations running smoothly and safely.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Deputise & Lead: Hold full responsibility for the factory in the Manager's absence, acting as the primary point of contact and authority on the floor.
- Operations: Organise and set up daily production lines. Step onto the line to work hands-on alongside the team whenever necessary to maintain output.
- Administration: Manage daily manufacturing admin, including stock control, production planning, printing labels, and submitting daily production figures.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot issues quickly to keep production moving and ensure company goals and targets are met.
- Communication: Provide clear, direct instructions to production staff while enforcing site rules and setting a professional example.
