Job Title: Content and Social Media Manager
Location: Manchester, UK
Hours: Full time, office based, 37 hours per week
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join this Manchester-based D2C and wholesale business, to lead its content and social marketing proposition and take it to the next level of growth.
The role will have a broad remit across a small team, so an initial hands-on approach will be essential, with a view to add to/build the team as required. The main focus of the role will be on Content and Social, working closely with the senior Marketing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Strategy: Develop and execute a cohesive content strategy that aligns with brand values and business goals.
- Social Media Management: Work with the team to plan, create, and schedule engaging content for social media platforms, ensuring a consistent brand voice.
- Campaign Development: Lead social and content campaigns to promote products, drive traffic, and engage consumers.
- Content Creation: Produce high-quality content, including blog posts, newsletters, product descriptions, and social media posts, tailored to our audience.
- Analytics and Reporting: Monitor and report on content performance, using insights to optimise future strategies.
- Community Engagement: Build and nurture our online community by responding to comments, messages, and fostering meaningful connections.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the product, marketing, and sales teams to align content with brand initiatives and launches.
- Trend Monitoring: Stay up-to-date with social media trends, algorithm changes, and industry developments to inform content decisions.
About You
We are looking for a creative and results-driven Content and Social Media Manager to manage and execute our content strategies across all platforms.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in a content or social media management role, preferably within the nursery or homeware sectors.
- Strong copywriting and storytelling skills.
- Excellent understanding of social media platforms and best practices.
- Experience with content planning tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Insights).
- Basic graphic design and video editing skills. Familiarity with design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A keen eye for aesthetics and detail, ensuring content aligns with brand identity.
- Confidence in front of the camera.
- Understanding of how to create content for both organic and paid social channels
Desirable:
- Experience working with nursery or lifestyle brands.
- Familiarity with SEO principles and keyword research.
- Understanding of influencer marketing and partnerships.
- Understanding of paid social.
- Experience of social tip & tiktok shop.
