We are currently looking for a Design Director - Data Centers who will lead the design delivery process, design management team and multi-disciplinary design team across all Data Centre Projects.
As the Design Director - Data Centers, you will:
- Work as part of the project senior team to ensure the ongoing management of all design related issues through project completion and handover
- You will lead and manage the design management function for the data centre division. Coordinate the design requirements of the Client’s team, the consultant design team, Skanska and the sub-contractors
- You will manage the design managers assigned to the projects who will be responsible for all design related scopes/ packages/ subjects to ensure the information is coordinated between packages and released in line with the programme, the Employers Requirements, and Contract Design Management Plan.
- You will support the Commercial, MEP, Digital, Information Control Teams, Sustainability, Planning and Operational teams.
- You will work with the Project Leadership Team to deliver against project, design control and project governance requirements.
- You will contribute to achieving the broader Operating Unit and UK business objectives and support the associated Design Management, Digital and Information Control functional strategies.
We are looking for:
- Member of professional institution (RIBA, ICE, MCIOB) would be desirable.
- Experience in senior leadership role and in leading teams on data centres and other technical buildings.
- Experience of delivering construction projects (£10m-£200m+) in a relevant building type working through bid, PCSA and delivery stages, and successfully converting and delivering on quality, time and to budget.
- Experience of working with a broad range of stakeholders, including functional experts, senior stakeholders, technical lead.
- Demonstrable experience of varied forms of contract including specifically JCT & FIDIC.
- Knowledge and experience of managing design and working within a secure UK environment.
