We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and motivated Warehouse Operative / Team Leader to join our friendly team in Rainham, Kent. This is a full-time, ( Monday - Friday 8.30am -5.30pm) permanent opportunity with an immediate start available for the right candidate.
This is a hands-on role that combines day-to-day warehouse operations with leading a small team. You will be responsible for setting a positive example, helping to coordinate daily activities, and ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a small warehouse team, allocating daily tasks and ensuring work is completed efficiently.
- Motivate team members and promote a positive, collaborative working environment.
- Safely handle materials, including loading and unloading goods from lorries and storage areas.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Manage stock levels using warehouse management systems to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Organise stock replenishment and store products effectively to maximise warehouse space.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including checking incoming deliveries and preparing goods for dispatch.
- Carry out basic maintenance and troubleshooting of warehouse equipment where required.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Ensure warehouse procedures and health and safety standards are followed at all times.
- Support colleagues with general warehouse and operational duties as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Previous warehouse experience, ideally with some experience leading or supervising a small team.
- A strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Ability to carry out manual handling and heavy lifting safely.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative, and make sound decisions.
