Brackley Fields Care Home – Brackley, Northamptonshire
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Brackley Fields Care Home.
The core role is 15 hours every other weekend, making it particularly suitable for someone looking for regular part-time work alongside education, another job or other commitments.
For anyone looking for more hours, there may also be the opportunity to work additional shifts during the week supporting our housekeeping and laundry teams. These additional hours are optional and can be discussed depending on your availability.

Our kitchen is an important part of daily life at the home, providing freshly prepared, home-cooked meals for our residents. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will work closely with our Kitchen Manager and the wider care team to help prepare and serve meals and maintain a clean, safe and well-organised kitchen.
Hours
- 15 hours every other weekend as a Kitchen Assistant.
- Regular alternate-weekend working.
- Optional additional hours may be available during the week in our housekeeping and laundry teams.
- Additional hours can be discussed according to your availability.
- This position may suit someone looking for part-time work alongside college, sixth form or other commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Kitchen Manager with the preparation and serving of meals, snacks and drinks throughout the day.
- Help ensure meals are well presented and meet residents' individual dietary requirements and preferences.
- Prepare dining areas for mealtimes, including laying tables and helping to create a pleasant dining environment.
- Wash and sanitise crockery, cutlery, glassware, utensils and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen, food preparation and dining areas.
- Follow food hygiene, HACCP and Health & Safety procedures at all times.
- Assist with receiving deliveries, food storage and stock rotation.
- Work with the kitchen and care teams to help ensure residents have an enjoyable dining experience.
- Be friendly and respectful when interacting with residents and visitors.
- Undertake other reasonable duties to support the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.
