Overview of the role
To act as a Learning & Development ambassador, delivering engaging training to production staff at all levels, while supporting the creation of clear work instructions and maintaining high-quality training records to ensure a competent and flexible workforce. The role includes assessing and developing employee competence, contributing to inductions, promoting health and safety awareness, and coaching staff. It also supports the L&D strategy, assists with identifying training needs, and promotes a positive and inclusive culture across Chemring Countermeasures.
Responsibilities
- Deliver operational training to CCM and/or externally accredited standards
- Ensure each production Operator is competent, through assessment, in their understanding and performance of the Work Instruction’s and Risk Assessments they are following
- Assist with the technical knowledge transfer of new processes and products by ensuring they are fit for purpose process instructions delivered through a structured training process which accommodates different learning styles
- Coach MCL’s in delivering an on boarding & buddy service to new starters following their site induction and audit the sign off, of operatives.
- Update and maintain individual and departmental training records using the Learning Management System in place, keeping them up to date and compliant with required audit standards.
- Routinely deliver refresher training on critical process and compliance topics
- Contribute to, and deliver toolbox talks, as required
- Support with or complete mask face fit testing as required
- To report immediately to appropriate management, anything which in their opinion may directly or indirectly give rise to an unsafe situation
Essential Qualifications, Skills and/or Experience
- Level 3 Trainer Qualification (or prepared to work toward)
- Assessor Qualification (or prepared to work toward)
- IT Skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Learning Management Systems)
Desirable Qualifications, Skills and/or Experience
- Familiarity with explosives manufacture
