Right now, I’m doing everything alone. I need someone who can help me run the laser while I focus on other processes like folding, fabrication and admin.
The Role: I’m looking for a reliable, hard working individual to take ownership of our 3kW Fibre Laser. Someone, who wants to step up their skills.
You don't need to be a master programmer yet—I will personally train you on our specific machine and nesting software. The ultimate goal is to train you up so you can confidently run the entire laser department as a standalone role. You just need to bring the right attitude, know the basics of sheet metal and DXFs (or CAD in general), and be someone who takes pride in showing up every day.
Responsibilities:
- Safely load and unload sheets using our suction crane.
- Import DXF files and learn to nest efficiently.
- Set up, operate, and maintain the CNC fibre laser.
- Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy before they move to folding.
- Manage sheet metal stock levels and keep the laser area organized.

- Stable Pay & Progression: Starting at £14.50 to £17.00/hour (depending on what you already know), with regular pay reviews as your nesting skills and speed improve.
- On-the-Job Training: Get direct, 1-on-1 training from the owner on advanced nesting optimization, machine setup, and preventative maintenance.
- Total Time Flexibility: We focus on output, not the clock. Want to start early at 6:00 AM to beat the traffic and finish at 2:30 PM? As long as production deadlines are met, you can choose your own start and finish times. The time flexibility will be available after 3 months, when you are fully trained.
